Manorial Roll Data

In tracing my family in Arbory in the IOM I have reviewed the manorial rolls for the late 1700's early 1800's. The names are in many cases underlined several times and dates such as 1790, 1810, 1818 etc. are assigned to these lines. In addition there are symbols or letters inserted in front of many of these dates. They can be 2-4 slashes ie(///)or maybe its an "m", also there are an "a", an "o" or an "ap". I think they relate to if the party resides on the property or is an absentee land owner and the dates relate to a record that they paid rental on the property. Can anyone help me with this?
