Re: Viking descendants on the Isle of Man

The Norse spread (after 8th century AD) along west coast of Scotland, as far south as Wirral, Chester on English side, Dublin and Isle of Man (and a little later to Iceland, Greenaland and briefly America); The Danes (effectively same people but from what is know Danemark and S Sweeden settled East coast of England and for 50 years ruled England (King Canute = Knut) - Swedes and Finns travelled east and settled along Volga supposedly helping found what is now Russia
The gene pool is very mixed as the Norse in Western Isles intermigled with Gaelic people
