Re: ISLE OF MAN ROOTS
In Response To: Re: ISLE OF MAN ROOTS ()

Hi, I discovered this interesting site via the Research Library, Auckland, New Zealand. I'm new at this game. Have found the marriage of Annie Hall born Isle of Man, around 1853 to Samuel Ferguson, South Shields Co. Dur. They are my Great Grandparents. I know they lived in Hebburn area in Co. Dur. She died around 1904 and he in 1902 leaving 5 or 6 children, one of whom is my grandmother, Mary Scott Ferguson who emigrated to Australia in 1910/1911. Where do I start looking to find her. Have checked BDM of St. Catherines in UK but so far no luck. I think they may have been en route/returning from Isle of Man at time of 1881 census as I have found them at accommodation in Liverpool (did they have honeymoons in those days or just go and meet the folks) and I know the children were born in South Shields. Their marriage was March Quarter and census in April I think. Anyone out there in cyber space with suggestions.
Will watch this space with interest.
Thank you: Linda Carter.
