Bishopscourt

Bishopscourt was for several centuries the residence of the Bishop of Sodor and Man but between 1640 and 1661 the see was vacant and James Earl of Derby appropiated the revenues to help defray his loss of Lancashire estate. James fortified Bishopscout and used it as his summer residence between 1643 and 1650.
