MANX MOTOR CARS. OWNERS, NUMBERS, AND H.P. - 1914

The following is a complete list of licenses for motor cars issued by the Highway Board for the Isle of Man, with the official numbers of the cars and other information. The office of the Highway Board is in Athol Street, and the Secretary is Mr. R. H. Cubbon The duty payable is the same as a private hackney carriage- (6/3 per wheel) with an additional duty at the following rates :--Not exceeding half a ton, 10/-; under one ton, £ 1 ; under two tons, £2 2s. ; and over two tons, £3 3s. A registration fee has also to be paid to the Highway Board, viz., £1 for a motor car and 5/- for a motor cycle. Drivers' licenses, 5/- each. Temporary residents in the Isle of Man must register their cars within 24 hours of arrival. No charge is made and no new license is necessary.
