Note the 1702 Act of Settlement doubled quarterland rents. See elsewhere for Intacks and Cottages.
Note that the ordering of the Quarterlands differed from one Roll to the next though Ballakebag and Ballatersin always headed the list. The transcription has translated the odd bit of latin - all rents were in Roman numerals and are here placed in Arabic. The sub-amounts for different tenants are written above their name and are not always easily readable on the photocopy, my misreading may explain the occasional poor arithmetic.
Some names are underlined and followed by †- these I presume are deaths of tenants after the roll was produced.
Most entries had 'per quarter' preceding rent, this is omitted in the transcript.
Note the date is conjectured on basis of exact correspondance of amounts (esp fines) with the Castle Receiver's book of that year.
