T.S. Manxman

Midland Railway Turbine Steamer "The Manxman"

The Manxman was introduced to work the Heysham/Douglas route, a summer only route which opened on 1 June 1905 although Heysham Harbour (and services to Ireland) officially opened on 1 September 1904. The Londonderry had a couple of trial runs into Douglas in August 1904 but there was a delay in the delivery of the Manxman which did not take place until November 1904. (Thanks to J.R. Clague for additional infornation)
