Robert Williamson (1841-1927)

Born 1 Jan 1841 in Laxey to a recently arrived Scots family, he was a highly successful entrepreneur in the growing tourist industry. His major concern was the Laxey Glen Gardens but also built up an extensive bakery and grocery business in both Laxey and Douglas.

MHK for Garff from 1891-7.

Member of St Andrew's Presbyterian church.
