Pensioners at Cambrian Place, 1920

JOY DAY IN THE ISLE OF MAN.

On March 5th, 1920, about 1,600 old people over 70 years of age received their first pensions. The illustration shows the scene outside the Widows' House, Cambrian Place, Douglas, when the postman arrived with the first Postal Orders for 10/- each. Mr. S. Norris, M.H.K,. is seen shaking hands with each old person.
