CLEVELAND MANX FESTIVAL.

The sixty-sixth annual festival of Mona's Relief Society was held Tuesday evening, November 20th, at the Woodward Masonic Temple. More than three hundred persons of Manx birth or descent and their friends gathered to exchange greetings and do honour to this occasion. At nine o'clock the entire company proceeded to the dining-room, which was beautifully decorated with flags, the stars and stripes floating from every available place. A large emblem of the Isle of Man hung at one end of the hall, while on the opposite end there hung a large " Service Flag." This flag consists of a white field surrounded by a red border. On the white field were forty-two blue stars — a star for each of our Cleveland Manx boys who have joined the colours, and who are now preparing for service in training camps, or are on the sea getting ready to do their part in this terrible war, " to make the world better and safer for democracy." Cards hearing the name and military address of each of the boys were hung on the border of the flag, giving it a little personal touch that was quite pleasing and interesting. The chairman, President Henry Watterson, called on the Rev M. H. Lichliter, pastor of Epworth Memorial M.E. Church, to offer the invocation. After supper, the following programme was presented : — Singing, " The Star Spangled Banner"; address, " The Service Flag," Mr William R. Creer; singing, " America." ; solo, " Sweetheart, sigh no more," Miss Elenor Collister (accompanist, Miss Mvrle Fry) ; solo (a) " The Old Refrain" (b) " Calm as the Night," Mr George Anderson (accompanist, Miss Phyllis Anderson) ; solo, " There's a Land," Mrs J. T. Killey (accompanist, Miss Crebbin) ; address, Rev M. H. Lichliter ; solo, " When you come home." Mrs J. T. Killey; singing, "Ellan Vannin."

The following ladies and their assistants presided at the tables:-Mrs W. C. Boyd, Mrs R. Gorry, Mrs S. Fennell, Mrs Z. T. Sneyd, Mrs R. Crebbin, Mrs E. Kelly, Mrs J. A.
