Built 1894 as "Duke of York" and, like the Ramsey (previously "Duke of Lancaster", was operated by Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway on the Fleetwood to Belfast service before, like its sister ship, being acquired from the Turkish Patriotic Committee in 1912.
