Aaron Arrowsmith (1750-1833) cartographer, engraver and publisher; born County Durham died Soho; according to Tooley easily the foremost cartographer of the period. Initially worked for Cary and Faden, in 1790 set up own business in Castle Street Long Acre.


Covers N Irish Sea; SW Scotland + NE Ireland in outline, small section Cumberland + IoM in detail; Scale 1:193,000
similar arrangement of hills with Berger 1815 (common draughtsman/base map?)
IoM based on Mackenzie1775; hills marked inaccurately by hachures; Scale bar E.M.,10
