Here lyeth the body of the Rev. PHILIP MOORE, Rector of Kirk Bride, and 48 years Chaplain and Schoolmaster of Douglas, who died Jan. 22, 1783, Aged 77.

For ever may the man be blest,
Who never will these bones molest,
But here for ever let them rest,
Till fire consume this earthly ball,
And Christ shall come to judge us all.
Sistu. felix semper ita
Et fruaris diii vita.
