CONVENTIONS

MADE AT EDINBURGH BY THE MINISTERS OF THE KING OF ENGLAND, RESPECTING THE RENEWAL OF A FINAL PEACE AND A MARRIAGE TO BE CONTRACTED BETWEEN DAVID, SON AND HEIR OF THE KING OF SCOTLAND, AND JOHANNA, SISTER OF THE KING OF ENGLAND.

A.D. 1323,

 

 

ITEM.-It is covenanted and agreed that if any war in Ireland takes place against the said King of England, his heirs or his successors, that the aforesaid King of Scots, his heirs and his successors will not assist the said enemies of the said King of England. Likewise it is covenanted and agreed that if any outbreak of war takes place against the aforesaid King of Scots, his heirs or his successors, in the Isle of Man, or any of the other isles of Scotland, that the said King of England, his heirs and his successors, will not aid the said enemies.

FACTAE PER NUNCIOS REGIS ANGLIÆ APUD EDINBURGH, SUPER FINALI PACE REFORMADA, ET SUPER MARITAGIO INTER DAVID, FILIUM ET HAEREDEM REGIS SCOTIAE, ET JOHANNANI SOROREM REGIS ANGLIAE, CONTRAHENDO.

ITEM.-Il est tretee et acordee qe si nul leve de guerre en Irlande countre le dit Roi Dengleterre, ses heirs ou ses successors, nen aiderunt a les ditz enemitz le dit Roi Dengleterre. Auxint est il tretee et acordee, qe si nul leve de guerre contre lavautdit Roi Descoce, ses heirs on ses successors, on Lisle de Manne, on es autres illes de Escoce, qe le dit Roi Dengleterre, ses heirs et ses successors, non aiderunt a les ditz enemitz.
