MEMORANDUM.

A.D. 1292.

MEMORANDUM.—That a Record which the Bishop of Winchester and his companions have sent before the Council respecting the great Plea of the Abbot de Rupe, and like-wise a Record which James de Asteleye took, under the seal of the said Bishop, respecting the Plea between the said James and the Abbot of Lilleshull, and likewise a Record which a certain Manxman took, who follows against the Prior of Buttele, and in which process he complains that the aforesaid Bishop and their companions have illegally proceeded ; and a certain other Record which a certain Emma de Bereford took of the same Auditors, are by the command of the Council delivered to G. de Thornton and his companions, that they, having summoned the Justices of the King’s Bench, and recited the Records aforesaid before them, as soon as opportunity serves, may act therein according to Law and the Custom of the kingdom, etc.

MEMORAND’ quod Recordum quod Episcopus Wynton’, et socii sui, miserunt coram Consilio, de magno Placito Abbatis de Rupe, Et etiam Record’ quod Jacobus de Asteleye detulit,sub sigillo ejusdern Episcopi, dePlacito inter ipsum Jacobum et Abbatern do Lilleshull, Et etiam Recordam quod quidam Mancus detulit, qui sequitur versus Priorern de Buttele, et in quo processu queritur quod predicti Episcopi et socii s~ui minus rite processerunt, Et quoddarn aliud Recordurnque’ queclam Emma dè Bereford detulit de eisdem Auditorihus, per preceptum Consilii traduntur G.- de Thornton, et sociis suis, ut ipsi, vocatis Justic’ de Banco, et recitatis predictis Record’ coram eis quarn cito vacare poterunt, faciant quod de Jure et secundum Consuetud~ regni fuerit faciend’, etc.
