HENRY THE THIRD TO OLAVE. A.D. 1218.

THE King, to Olave, King of Man, greeting. We ask you not to extend your hand to the Abbey of Furness, which is our free eleemosinary, and that you shall not suffer to be committed upon the Abbot or the monks of the said Abbey, nor upon their men, any injury, annoyance, or hurt. That henceforth so acting, it may not be necessary to use more severe means in this matter. Witness the King at Westminster, the 6th day of March.

ROTULI LITTERARUM CLAUSARUM.

2 HEN. III

REX Olavus Regi de Man salutem.
