FOR THE KING OF THE ISLES. A.D. 1218.

THE King of the Islands* has letters of conduct, in coming to the King, to render him homage, and to amend the excesses committed upon the people of our Lord the King, as well in England as in Ireland, by men of his land, and during his stay, and at his departure.

And the said conduct shall endure for fifteen days after Easter, in the second year of the reign of King Henry. Witness the Earl, at Winchester, the 16th day of January.

And it is commanded the Justice of Ireland, that, in the meanwhile, he should not inflict, nor permit to be inflicted, any annoyance, injury, or grievance upon the said king, or upon the subjects or lands of the said King of the Isles.
