Document No. 159.
Whereas there was lately a Pew erected in the Chancel of Kirk Braddan which we ordered should be made for the use of Michael Oates of Douglas. And whereas we are informed that the said Mich. Oates is wholly debarred from the benefit and use thereof by several persons crowding into it We do therefore order that (for the future) none presume to sit in the said Pew without the sd. Michael Oates his permission whereof notice is to be given by the Sumner the next Lord's day.
Dated October 31st 1700.
