re Aghton in Angl'

Thes ar the appechements made by Rys Constable of the Castell of Russhyn as he will stond by be his oth as he is sworne by fore Henry of Byrom Leutenant of Man

These are the impeachments made by Rys Constable of the Castle of Rushen as he will stand by be his oath as he is sworn before Henry of Byrom Lieutenant of Man

 

In the first ther has ben gret wast of ale candell and fire in the chaumbre of Roger of Aghton for fire and ale that take at thair awn hond for Thomas mon of Aghton was botiller and fire no mon gryght home ne he is not here to unsware

In the first there has been great waste of ale, candle and fire in the chamber of Roger of Aghton for fire and ale that take at their own hand for Thomas man of Aghton was butler and fire no man gryght them, neither he is not here to answer.

re Robt Storreys & Henry the Storreys in Ang

And also wast of.fyre in the Receyuors Chaumbre made by Robert Storreys he is in Englond

And also waste of.fire in the Receivers Chamber made by Robert Storreys, he is in England

re Fasakerley

& senl'

And also gret wast of ale flesshe and fysshe send out of the Castell in to my hows to Fasakerley and his men Fasakerley is in Englond and the steward knawlages that he made his mete forth

And also great waste of ale, flesh and fish sent out of the Castle into my house to Fasakerley and his men. Fasakerley is in England and the steward acknowledges that he made his meat forth

And also Roger of Aghton toke in to the Castell to mete and drynk on John Corry scot and made hym to in his Chaumbre un wetyng of me 'lye. all nyght And also if Clerkes that come in to the Contre the which my Lord myght have hade gret profet by hade officers don ther part the which that toke thair gold and levet home to go into Scotlond hit is unswaret to byfore

And also Roger of Aghton took in to the Castle to meat and drink one John Corry Scot and made him to, in his Chamber unwitting of me, lie all night. And also if Clerks that come into the Country the which my Lord might have had great profit by, had officers done their part the which that took their gold and left them to go into Scotland, it is answered to before

And also a breton ship that come full of salt in to Man and ther made a forfete in Raynoldsway the which forfete hade the Waterbailly and the Receyuor don ther office my Lord hade wonnen the ship and all thair godes the which drogh to more then xl li As to the Waterbailly hit is provet by my Lords Counsell at home that he did his office and thai that he left the shipmen wyth knawlaget and put .

And also a Breton ship that came full of salt into Man and there made a forfeit in Raynoldsway, the which forfeit had the Waterbailiff and the Receiver done their office my Lord [would] had won the ship and all their goods, the which drew to more then £40. As to the Waterbailiff it is proved by my Lords Counsel at them that he did his office and they that he left the shipmen with knowledge and put .

re Thomas Aghton

And also Thomas of Aghton bete my mon in my. Lords halle when he was in my Lords service and his brether men and that the Receyuor will knewe Thomas of Aghton has put hym in my Lordes grace

And also Thomas of Aghton beat my man in my Lord's hall when he was in my Lord's service and his brethren ,and that the Receiver well knew Thomas of Aghton has put him [?the Receiver] in my Lord's grace

And also Thomas of Aghton has a mon that syttes at yomons bort wheras hym aght not to sytte

And also Thomas of Aghton has a man that sits at yeoman's board whereas he ought not to sit.

And also wheras the Waterbailly hade a charge to ryde fro haven to haven and to serch all that went out of the lond or come in to the lond and to ryde he and his mon fro haven to haven the which he nyf hys mon diden not bot when thai rydden a bowt merchandize for hym self and his brothe The Waterbailly sais no gilty in this poynt and that he puttes to enquest The enquest sais in. this plee the Waterbailly not gilty

And also whereas the Waterbailiff had a charge to ride from haven to haven and to search all that went out of the land or come in to the land,and to ride he and his man fro haven to haven the which he neither his man did not, but when they rode about merchandize for himself and his brother The Waterbailiff says not guilty in this point and that he puts to enquest. The enquest says in. this plea the Waterbailiff not guilty

And also mych peple is gore out of the Contre both yong and elder the which the Waterbaly aght to present in to my lordes bokes or elles me thynk hit a defawt The Waterbaly sais in this poynt he has don his office and that he putts to enquest The enquest sais in this plee the Waterbailly not gilty

And also much people is gone out of the Country both young and elder the which the Waterbailiff ought to present into my lord's books or else I think it a defect The Waterbailiff says in this point he has done his office and that he puts to enquest. The enquest says in this plea the Waterbailiff not guilty
