Royal Manx Fencibles: Description Books - Major Taubman's Company 1793-1798

The Royal Manx Fencibles were founded 1779 but disbanded in October, 1783, after the Peace of Versailles, but it was re-embodied on the 20th of February, 1793, shortly after Great Britain had joined the Allies against the French Republic. A second Battalion was formed in 1795.

There would appear to have been three companies (1) Lord Henry Murray's (some 210 names), (2)Major Taubman's (170 names) and (3)Governor Shaw's.

The following table is very slightly tidied up with all the format of dates normalised - some entries are hard to decipher especially as those discharged had a line scored through the entry.

As several appeared to join the British Army it may be possible to further trace their career.
