APPENDIX (B.) N° 52.

INSTRUCTIONS from SENHOUSE WILSON, Esq. to do the Duty of Searcher and Acting Comptroller of the Port of Ramsay.

WHEREAS it is necessary that some proper person should be authorized to do the duty of Searcher of the Port of Ramsay during my absence from the said Port :

Know you, Mr. Thomas Barber, that for the great trust and fidelity I repose in you, I have appointed and do hereby appoint you to act and do the duty of Searcher of the Port of Ramsay during my pleasure, and in my absence to put your name to all warrants, cockets, or other lawful Custom-house dispatches, for goods imported or exported, and to do every other lawful act or thing in the execution of the said employment, and to demand, collect, and receive all fees and emoluments due to be paid for all goods, wares, and merchandizes imported and exported as shall be due and payable to the Searcher of the Port of Ramsay.

And you are also hereby authorized until further orders to act as Comptroller of the said Port of Ramsay, and to put your name and the seal of office of the Comptroller of the said Port to all lawful Custom-house dispatches, and to do every other lawful act or thing in the execution the said employment.

In witness whereof I have put my hand and seal this 16th day of March 1790.
