N° 32.

The EXAMINATION of JOHN QUAYLE, Esq. Clerk of the Rolls, taken at Douglas, in the Isle of Man, the 28th Day of Sept. 1791.

[Examined by the Duke of Atholl.]

THIS Examinant saith, that he knows, that prior to the Year 1765, the Bay Fisheries of this Island were let by the Ancestors of the Duke of Atholl.

[Cross-examined by the Keys.]

That there is one inland Salmon Fishery in this Island now belonging to His Grace's Family and now in His Grace's Possession, namely Kirk Santon ; and there are other inland Fisheries in this Island, for which the Tenants pay a specific Quit Rent and an Alienation Fine, and these last Fisheries are customary Estates of Inheritance with respect to the Lord.
