Colby (Arbory), 1868

Plan Colby, 1868

Colby is a small village to the west of Arbory Parish church at Ballabeg - the E-W road has seen much subsequent ribbon development but at that period most of the buildings were running along the Colby river.

The Mill has a long history - associated with the Corrin family for several generations and the cause of several disputes.

The Wesleyan Methodist and Primitive Methodist chapels stand opposite each other across the main road - there was competition to to open first though now only the former still functions as a chapel with the latter sold to form a domestic house.
