Probably contains lost surname O'Doole(Ir. O Dubh-ghaill). There is another Balladoole in Lezayre, and in both cases there is a stream running through the farm. The name O'Doole not being found in the earli-est Manx records, makes Dubhail, 'Black-Stream,' another possible derivation.
