To the Glory ot God

and the memory of my beloved father,
a faithful and devoted Parish’ Priest

and of

a Bishop and Pastor of Christ’s Flock, Catholic
and Apostolic, in life and doctrine, this little
book is dedicated.

" The happiness of Heaven, which we all hope for, is not to be obtained but in keeping the Commandments of God, and in communion with His Church. He that considers these things will value the blessing of having God’s house near him, where he can go for pardon when he has offended God; where he can go for help and grace, which he always stands in need of ; and where he can hold a constant and open communion with the Church of Christ."— (Extract from Bishop Wilson’s sermon at the Consecration of S. Matthews, 21st September, 1708.)

O ALMIGHTY GOD, who hast built Thy Church Upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the head corner-atone; Grant us so to be joined together in unity of spirit by their: doctrine, that we may be made an holy temple acceptable unto Thee ; through Jesus Christ ur Lord. Amen.
