ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH.

This church has a place of worship in each of the four towns—Douglas, Castle-town, Peel, and Ramsey. The church in Douglas is, undoubtedly, the finest ecclesiastical building in the Island. The others are unpretending structures. Here, as in other places, the Roman Catholic priesthood have signalized themselves by their devotion to their flocks.

[FPC - an indication of the Anti Catholic feelings on the Island - one would not understand from this that the number of Catholics on the Island was certainly more than the Presbyterian and Congrgationalists combined and around 8% of population!]
