Episcopal Wills 1809 Braddan #2, of William Hampton

In the name of God Amen
I Wm Hampton of Ballachroink in ye parish of
Kirk Braddan being of sound and disposing mind
& memory & calling to mind ye uncertainty of
human life do make this my last will & testament
in manner and form following.
First I commend my soul to almighty God hoping for his
mercy's sake in my Blessed Redeemer to obtain
remission of all my sins and my body to decent
and Christian burial.
Secondly I devise unto any person or persons pretending
a right or claim to my effects sixpence legacy each
Thirdly I bequeath unto the poor or greatest object
of charity in this parish one guinea to be disposed
or distributed among them as my executor shall
according to her discretion dirrect or appoint
Lastly I nominate constitute & appoint my very
effectionat wife Isabel Hampton als Cowley
als Curlet whole & sole exectorix residuary
legatee of all ye rest and remainder of my
goods houses lands chattles and effects of what kind or
danomination so ever &c in testament whereof
I have subscribed my name this 2nd day
of July 1794
