Know all Men by these presents that I
John Kerruish of Bwooily Velt in the parish
of Maughold for & in Consideration of all the Love good
Will & Natural Affection which I have & do bear
towards my Dutiful & only son & Heir William
Kerruish who I hope will be my support help
and Assistance in my declining years as also
for & in Consideration of the other Obligations
herein after mentioned Have Given Granted
Settled Estate & Established &Confirmed And by
these presents Do Give Grant Settle Estate and
forever absolutely Establish & Confirm to & upon
him my sd. Son & Heir Wm. Kerruish his Heirs
& assigns All & singular my sd. Estate of Bwooilley
Velt situated in the parish of Maughold and
Also my whole Right Title property & Interest
to or in any other Lands or Houses within this
Isle of what Kind nature or denomination soever
together with all the rest of my Goods Chattles
and Effects of what kind or nature soever that
shall or may belong or appertain to me All to be
possessed & Enjoyed by him my sd. Son & Heir Clear
free & Debtless / save what is hereafter mentioned __
immediately upon my decease / He my sd. Son &
Heir in Consideration hereof paying unto his
Three Sisters namely Ellr. Ann & Catherine Kerruish
the Sum of Twenty pounds apiece unless in
my own discretion I shall find it Expedient
to lay or order him to pay more And in case
he my sd. Son & Heir will take any incumbrance
Either by sale or mortgage upon Any part
of my Lands then I do hereby Enjoin him
to pay the sum of forty pounds apiece
to his sd. three Sisters aforenamed And for the
true & faithful performance of all & singular
the before written Deed of Settlement & every
thing therein Contained I thee said John Kerruish
Do hereby bind & oblige myself my heirs Ex ….
………. & assigns in & under the penalty
of one thousand pounds [sterl] to be Levied
& paid According to Law As witness my
subscription this the 22nd Novr. 1790

of the Holy Evangelists that John Kerruish
the Executing party to the beforegoing Deed of
Settlement duly Executed the same in his presence
and in the presence of Danl. Cowll (crossed out)
the other witness And that the [sd.] Danl. Cowll signed his
own Name as a witness thereto ___

The before written Deed of Settlement being [proved]
before the High Bailiff & now openly published
in Court & no Objection offered agt. it the
same is therefore ordered to be recorded for the
benefit of all persons concerned.

will & Testament of John Kerruish the Donor &
Wm. Kerruish the Donee is sworn Exor. in Court in
form of Law & hath given Pledges for the
payment of Debts namely Wm. Kerruish Ballallen
& Wm. Callow Ballaterson both of KK Maughold

Maughold having arrived at the age of fourteen years
and having chosen John Cermode and William
Kerruish of the said parish for his Guardians __
They the said John Cermode and William Kerruish
are therefore sworn to execute the Office of Guardians
in all matters and things relating to their Ward
according to Law
