Archdeacon Wills 1798 #50, Michael, of Henry Lace: ‘KK Michael, 21st December 1796:

This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Henry Lace of the said parish of Kirk Michael who was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding when he declared the following words as his last will and testament in the presence of us whose names are hereunto subscribed. First, he bequeathed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. Secondly, he left and bequeathed unto his daughter Elizabeth Jones otherwise Lace the sum of two pounds as legacy. Thirdly, he left and bequeathed to his son Henry Lace the sum of ten shillings and the square table as legacy. Fourthly, he left and bequeathed unto his son Patrick Lace the sum of ten shillings as legacy. Fifthly, he left and bequeathed unto his son William lace the sum of ten shillings and his blue coat and black breeches as legacy. Lastly, he left devised and bequeathed unto his wife Catharine Lace otherwise Caine his part of his house in the Village of KK Michael aforesaid together with the eaxxx liberties and appurtenances thereunto belonging and nominated her his said wife Catharine Lace als Caine sole executrix and residuary legatee of all the rest of his goods, xxx, credits, chattels, and effects movable and immovable of what nature soever. Witnesses: Patrick Cannell, James Crellin.

At an Ecclesiastical Court holden in the Court house in the Parish of Patrick the 22nd day of December 1797, Catharine Lace the executor named in the before going will having survived the testator bur departed this life before the probate of the said will and previous to her decease given granted settled and estated unto and upon her brother William Caine all her real and person estate and effects; Therefore as the will hath been openly published in Court and no objections offered thereto yet notwithstanding it . . .’
