Archdeacon Wills 1794 #68, Lezayre, of William Teare senior of Sulby, Lezayre, made April 1794:

"In the name of God, Amen. This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of William Tear senior of Sulby in the parish of Christ Lezayre who, being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and sound memory at the making hereof, thinking on the uncertainty of this transitory of this present life, made this his will on or about the 17th of April 1794, and extended into writing on or about the 23rd of said instant. First he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. Item, he left and bequeathed to his three sons, viz., William, John, Daniel, and his daughter Margaret the wife of Charles Wattleworth one shilling a piece to each person as legacy. Item, he left and bequeathed to his son William all the husbandry gears, as also the joyner gears or tools and likewise the grinding stone as legacy. Item, he left and bequeathed to his grandson the eldest son of william Tear his Bible as legacy. Lastly he nominated constituted ordained and appointed his loving wife Margaret Tear als Curghey sole and whole executor of all the rest of his goods, chattels, and effects of any kind and denomination and nature soever. Witnesses: Thomas Curlet, Mary Crowle als Curghey.

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre July 1794, the executor is sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely William Teare her son and Thomas Cowle the witness."
