Archdeacon Wills 1792 #27, Rushen, of Anna Carran als Gawne, widow, made October 1791:

"The last will and testament of Anna Carron als Gawn widow of the Parish of KK Christ Rushen being of sound disposing mind and perfect memory at the making thereof, being the 14th day of October 1791. First, she committed her soul to Almighty God and her body to Christian burial. She left and bequeathed unto her grandson Richard Carran the sum of two guineas. She left and bequeathed unto her granddaughter Jane the sum of forty shillings. She left and bequeathed unto her granddaughter Cathrin the sum of forty shilling. Lastly, she nominated constituted and appointed her loving sister Jane Waterson als Gawn to be the whole and sole executor of all the rest of her goods moveable and immovable depriving all other relations with six pence legacy that claim any right in her effects. Witnesses: William Corrin, John Cubbon.

At a Chapter Court holden at Castletown June 14th, 1792, the executor is sworn in Court in form of law and hath given pledges for payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of the wills.

Received of Jane Waterson alias Gawn widow of KK Christ Rushen the sum of two pounds nine shillings currency of this Isle, the said sum being the full amount of a legacy bequeathed to me by my grandmother Ann Carran deceased as in her last will and testament. Rec’d by me this day July 9th, 1792. [signed] Richard Karran.

Rec’d of Jane Waterson alias Gawn widow of KK Christ Rushen the sum of two pounds currency of this Isle, the said sum being the full amount of the legacy bequeathed to me by my grandmother Ann Carran deceased as in her last will and testament will appear, July 9th 1792. [signed, her mark] Chaterine Carran."
