Archdeacon Wills 1788 #57, Maughold, of Jane Durie spinster

, made 23 January 1788: "Be it known to all men by these present, me Jane Durie spinster, daughter of the deceased JOHN DURIE merchant in Ramsey by JANE DURIE ALIAS LLEWELLIN and niece to the late THOMAS DURIE Esquire of Douglas in the Isle of Mann, whereas it is my purpose and intention by this my last will and testament that the whole heritable and moveable subjects to which I succeed in right by a deed or involvement made at Dumfries the second day of July in the year one thousand seven hundred and seventy one with a codicil annexed thereto made at Douglas the twenty-eighth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine, made by my said UNCLE THOMAS DURIE deceased, together with the subjects that belong properly to my in right by my deceased FATHER JOHN DURIE or otherwise, shall be jointly between my SISTER MARGRET HERON DURIE and my MOTHER JANE DURIE aforesaid, In case my said mother be a widow, but in case my said mother should marry, I will and direct that my said sister Margret Heron Durie shall pay her the yearly annuity of fifty pounds per annum during her natural life, in full consideration of being jointly in the aforesaid rights in which case my said sister is to be whole and sole executrix. But otherwise they are to be joint in the before mentioned subjects, to be by them equally enjoyed and possessed. I hereby will and direct that in case my said named executors they or either of them shall come to enjoy or possess the benefit of said recited deed or involvement and annexed codicil mentioned. I do hereby will and direct and bequeath to the following persons the respective sum or sums payable to them or their heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, as hereafter and herein: Mentioned vizt to Mr. JOHN LLEWELLIN and JANE HIS WIFE the sum of ten pounds British each, to my AUNT DURIE of Douglas the sum of two pounds, to MRS. FRISSEL ALIAS LLEWELLIN the sum of ten pounds, to both my UNCLES namely WILLIAM & NICHOLASS I leave the sum of five pounds each, to both my AUNTS namely CATHRINE & ISABLE CHRISTIAN LLEWILLIN the sum of five pounds each, to BETSEY MCWHANNEL a DAUGHTER to Mr. SAMUEL MCWHANNEL & MOLLY ALS LLEWELLIN HIS WIFE the sum of five pounds, and to JOHN SAYLE merchant in Ramsey the sum of five pounds. And to my best and well beloved who are hereafter named in remembrance of my love and affection, a mourning ring, and hereunto is subscribed to this my last will and testament before the witnesses, namely John Sayle and Nicholass Curphey both of Ramsey. AT A CONSISTORY COURT holden at Ramsey March 11th, 1788: Margaret Heron Durie on of the executors named in this will having departed this life previous to the testator, her mother Jane Durie is sworn in Court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies, namely Mess. EDWARD ALLEN of Ramsey and NICHOLAS LLEWELLIN of the parish of Lezayre."

 Archdeacon Wills 1788 #58, Maughold, of Jane Durie spinster,

made 23 January 1788: "Jane Durie junior of the town of Ramsey in the Isle of Man being Sick and Weak in body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding did make publish and declare on Friday night the fifteenth of February one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight her last will and testament in manner and form following: that is to say, she left and bequeathed to her honored MOTHER JANE DURIE all her goods and effects both real and personal of what kind, nature or denomination soever. Witnesses: Anne Mylrea, Jane Allen. AT A CONSISTORY COURT holden at Ramsey, March 11th 1788, the executrix is sworn in Court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely Messr. EDWARD ALLEN of Ramsey and NICHOLAS LLEWELLIN of the parish of Lezayre."
