Archdeacon Will 1789 #29, Rushen, of Catharine Harrison, made 26 November 1788:

"Novr. 26, 1788: This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Catharine Harrison of the Parish of Kirk Christ Rushen who being weak in body but of a sound mind and memory did make this her last will and testament in manner following. In the first place she committed her soul to God and her body to Christian burial. Item, she left and bequeathed to her sister Mary Harrison her cotton gown, her best petticoat, her white petticoat, her best pair of shoes and stocking. Item, to her sister Ellinor Harrison she left her blue and red stuff gown, a brown gown, and best checkered apron. Item, to her sister Anne Harrison she left her red petticoat. Item, to Eln. infant daughter of Eln. Harrison als Shimmin she left a blue gown and a striped gown of English stuff as also a pair of her best stays, her worst checked apron, her worst silk hat and her worst mantle and should the child die under age, the said child’s mother was to posses the above mentioned effects, likewise a spinning wheel after the grandmother’s death. Item, to her brother Richard Harrison she left her red silk handkerchief. Item, to her godson William Harrison she left the linen for making of a linen shirt. Lastly she nominated constituted and appointed Mother sole Executrix of all her goods and effects moveable and immoveable of what kind or nature soever hereby depriving any person or persons who should claim with six pence Legacy. Witnesses present: Margaret Carin, Isabel Christian.

At a Chapter Court holden at Castletown June xx, 1789:The Executor is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely John Waterson (of Port le Mary) & Thomas Nelson of Balla Kneal both of Rushen."
