Archideaconal Wills 1776 Maughold #46, Elizabeth Kermode als Kissag

     This is affirmed to be the Last Will and Testament
     of Elizabeth Kermod als Kissag of the parish of KK
     Maughold who departed this life on or about the
     Eleventh day of January 1776 being of perfect
     mind and memory at the making of this Will
Imprs.     She committed her Soul to God and her Body
     to  Christian Burial

Itm.     She left and bequeathed her Share or part of
     twelve pounds that was due unto them from their
     Son John with the Interest thereof to her Daughter
     Anne Kermod

Itm.     She left and bequeathed to her Son Richard five
     pounds to put him to a Trade  if he staid in
     the Island, but if he did not stay in the Island
     she left the five pounds to her Daughter Anne Kermod

Itm.     She left and bequeathed to her two Sons William and
     James Kermod five shillings apeace 

Itm.     She left and bequeathed her Share of the Dresser 
     and of a Chest that John took out of the house by
     force to her Daughter Anne Kermod

Itm.     She left and bequeathed to her Granddaughter
     Elizabeth Corkil a Sheep and a Lamb

Itm.     She left and bequeathed to Thos. Kerruish's two
     children a Sheep and lamb Each

Itm.     She left and bequeathed the Linsey Woolsey that was
     in the Loom to her Daughter Jane Thos. Kerruish's wife

Itm.     She left and bequeathed some Lime Stones they had
     to her husband John Kermod and a feather bed to
     her said husband during his Life & after his decease
     the said feather bed to her Daughter Anne Kermod

Itm.     She left Six pence Legacy to her Son John

Itm.     She left and bequeathed her Share of the Joists or 
     Beams in the house to her Daughter Anne Kermod as
     also her Share of an Axe ^ Augre ^and Saw to her said
     Daughter and that her Son John was not to get any of
     the Implements or Tools Except the plow Gears

Itm.     She left and bequeathed twenty Shillings in the big  Ma….
     to her Daughter Ellinor, Thos. Corkil's wife

Lastly     She nominated ordained and appointed her
     Daughter Anne Kermod Executrix of the rest of
     her Goods & Effects & to pay the Debts along with
     her father and a shilling to  each of the Witnesses

     The Execr. Is Sworn in Court in form of Law & hath
     given Pledges for the payment of Debts and Legacies of
     Wm. Corkil Ballajora & Ewd. Christian of  Port [Carague]

         Whereas John Kermod Junr. Of Ballajora in the parish of KK
     Maughold did pass his Note unto his Father John Kermod Senr.
     of sd parish for the Sum of twelve Pounds, which Note is alleged
     to be lost & mislayd & cannot be found. And it appearing by
     the Oath of sd. John Kermod Junr. As a [hereby] the acknowlgemt.
     of John Kermod Senr. his Father aforesaid; that he said John Kermod
     Senr. had before the decease of his wife Elizabeth Kermod  received
     in part payment of said note of twelve Pounds the Sum of
     four pounds Eighteen Shillings, & that there remains
     unsatisfied of said Note a Ballance of seven Pounds two
     Shillings - The said John Kermod Junr. is hereby Ordered
     to pay unto James Cannell Execr. of the last Will & Testament
     of Elizabeth Kermod the Sum of three Pounds Seven shillings
     the same being one [moiety] of what remains unsatisfied
     of the aforesd. note of twelve Pounds, otherwise if he
     refuses or neglects the same to be comitted untill he
     Submits to Law & pays all fees

April 12th 1777 - I Richard Kermod do hereby acknowledge to
     have recd. From James Cannel Execr. of the last Will & Testamt.
     of my Mother Elizth. Kermod the Sum of five pounds the same
     being a Legacy bequeathed me by the last Will of my said
     mother Elizth. Kermod & I do hereby acquit release & discharge
     the sd. Jas.  Cannel his Execr. [Admr.] & [Asgns] of sd. Legacy as
     witness my Subscription the day & year above written
