Archdeacon Wills 1776, #86, Jurby, of Elizabeth Kermode als Fargher, widow of Middle, Braddan:

"I Elizabeth Kermode alias Fargher widow of Middle in the parish of Braddan, now resident of the Nappin in the parish of Jurby, being now old feeble and in a declining condition but by the blessing of God of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of the transitory life, do therefore make this my last will and testament in manner following: First, I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial. Item, I leave and bequeath six pence a piece legacy to every person who shall or may presume or pretend to have any right to any part of my goods or effects after my decease. Lastly, I do nominate, constitute, ordain and appointing my well loved daughter CATHERINE, the wife of WILLIAM CLARKE of the Nappin aforesaid sole executrix and residuary legatee of all my goods, chattels, credits, and effects of what kind, nature, denomination soever. In witness whereof I have caused this my will to be written, and my name and mark to be thereunto set and subscribed the 22nd day of November 1769. [signed, her mark] Elizabeth Kermode alias Fargher. AT CHAPTER COURT holden at KK Michael January 18th, 1776, WILLIAM CLARK husband of CATHARINE the executrix above named is sworn in Court in form of law."
