Episcopal Wills 1774-2 Andreas, John Christian

      The last Will and Testament of John Christian of
      the parish of KK Andreas made the 28th Day of Decembr
      1773. Being of perfect mind and memory at the making
      thereof.
First He Said the Lord's prayer and the Creed,and Committed his Soul
      to God & Body to Christian burial
Itm.  He left to his Son in law John Radcliffe the Cash or money he
      had secured by ^a^ Mortgage in Close-y-nellan-baane. Itm. He left
      to his son William Christian the money he had secured by a  -
      Mortgage on Close-ny-graman, And that his sd. son Wm. was 
      to pay five pounds to his Daughter Joney the Wife of Thos.
      Mylecharane Deceased. Itm. He left to his son Gilbert Christian
      Twenty Shillings legacy. Itm. He left to his three Gran =
      Children namely John, Thos. & Wm. Radcliffe three yearlings
      Equally between them. Itm. He left to his Grand- Daughter
      Margret Radcliffe A Chest. Itm. He bequeathed to his grand -
      Son Thos. Mylecharane Ten Shillings legacy. Itm. He left
      to his ^sd.^ Son Wm. the Cash he had in his hands, to be his own -
      property. Itm. He Left to his sd. Son in Law John Radcliffe
      the Cash he had in his own hands to be likewise his ow[n]
      property. Itm. He left to his sd. Son Wm. his Loom-Gears 
      Utensills. Itm. He left Six pence Legacy to whom soever
      would Sue or Claim for any right to his Effects - Lastly      
      He Nominated & appointed his sd. Son Wm: Christian and his 
      his sd. Daughter Cathrine, the wife of the sd. John Radcliffe - 
      Joint Executors of all the rest of his goods movable and -
      unmovable whatsoever - To the Witnesses of this Will he - 
      left a Shilling Each.

10th April 1774
    Andrew Crebbin one of the above Subscribed Witnesses Declar[ed]
         ^ to his foresd. Daughter the Wife of John Radcliffe ^
    that the Testator bequeathed  ^  his right to A Web of woollen
      Cloth wch was in the Tuck-Mill, as also the linin in the house
      with the Spinning Manufacture wch was in the house :- xxxxxxxxx  
      made by herself.  The sd. Witness Andrew Crebbin also saith
      that the Testator said that his Intention was to give a -
      parcell of his Land Called knock-glass to his foresd. Son -
      Gilbt. Christian after his Decease.

      Saml. Kinley the other witness to this Will further -
      Declares that the Testator left to his foresd. Son Gilbt.
      Christian A parcell of his land Called Knock-glass after
      his Decease And in case his sd. son Gilbt. Should strive or
                    ^ until the latter End of Harvest next ^
      Contend with the Testator's Execs. relating the grass ^ that then
      and in that Case his sd. Son Gilbt. was not to have the sd. -
      Knock-glass untill the same will be Due to him - The sd. -
      Saml. Kinley also Declared that the Testator left to his -
      foresd. Daughter Cathrine the wife of John Radcliffe -
      his part of A Web of Woollen Cloth with the Spinning -
      Manufacture in the house wch She made herself.

            30th May 1774
        He John Radcliffe husband of Cathrine Christian
    one of the Execrs. named in the above Will & Wm. Christian the
    other Execr. therein are sworn in Court in Form of Law
    & have given Pledges for paymt. of Debts & Legacies namely
    Andrew Crebbin & Saml. Kinley the Witnesses of the Will

Gilbt. Christian son of the Testator acknowledged to have
recd. of Wm. Christian and John Radcliffe the sum of Twenty
Shillings being the Legacy left him in the before going Will
and hereby acquits & discharges them the sd. Christian & Rad_
cliffe & every other Person of the same or any Part thereof

        Joney Mylecharane likewise acknowledged to have
recd. of Wm. Christian & John Radcliffe the Execrs. of the
foregoing Will the Sum of Five Pounds which was bequeathed
to her in sd. Will & hereby acquits & discharges them & every
other Person of the same or any Part thereof- WITNESS
her Name & Mark the Day & Year above written _____

Thos. Mylecharane acknowledges to have received
of Wm. Christian & John Radcliffe the Execrs. of the before
going Will the Sum of Ten Shillings bequeathed him
in said Will & hereby acquits & discharges them &
every other Person of the same or any Part thereof

John Radcliffe one of the Execrs. named so in ^of^ the before
going Will acknowledges to have recd. of Wm. Christian the

of the Legacies bequeathed to sd. Radcliffe's Children &
acknowledges to be accountable to them for the same &
hereby acquits & discharges sd. Wm. Christian & every other
Person of sd. Proportion as WITNESS his Name & Marke
