Archdeacon Wills 1769, #15, German, of Catharine Cooper als Moore of Peeltown:

"I Cathrine Cooper als Moore of Peeltown considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, also being in a declining state of health yet of perfect mind and memory, do therefore make my last will and testament as in manner following. First, committing my soul to Almighty God and my body to Christian burial. Item, I bequeath to my son William Cooper a crown legacy. Item, I leave or bequeath to my grandson Mathew Cowil my part of the riding horse as legacy. Lastly, I nominate and appoint my loving daughter Alice Cowil als Cooper to be whole and sole executrix of all the rest of my goods or effects moveable of what nature soever, excluding any other person or persons that may pretend to claim further right to my goods with six pence legacy apiece. In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my mark to my name this 15th of April 1761. [signed, her mark] Cathrine Cooper als Moore. Witnesses: Daniel Goldsmith, Mathew Shimin.

At a Court of Correction holden in Peeltown, 2nd March 1769. Daniel Goldsmith one of the subscribing witnesses to the within will being … and the due execution of said will having been proved by the other subscribed witness Matthew Shimmin, the Revd. Henry Corlet vicar of German, hath deposed on the holy Evangelist that the testatrix Catharine Cooper als Moore, being of sound mind and memory acknowledged the said within written will, after the same had been by his first read unto her, to be her last will and testament, where upon James Cowle husband of Alice Cowle als Cooper is sworn executor in Court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely Wm Cooper and John Gell of Kenna in KK of German."
