Archdeacon Wills 1765 #27, Ballaugh, of Mary Gawn als Kelly widow of Thomas Gawn:

‘This is affirmed by the subscribing witnesses to be the last will of Mary Gawn als Kelley widow of Thomas Gawn, who departed this life the 1st of Feb anno predicto, being in perfect mind and memory in the making hereof. Having committed her soul to God and body to Christian burial, she bequeathed to her son Thomas Gawn ten shillings. And to her son Stephen Gawn twenty shillings. To the witnesses hereof six pence each. And nominated and constituted her only daughter Margaret Gawn sole executrix of the rest of her goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever. Witnesses: William Gawn, Catherine Cowley.

At a Court of Correction holden at KK Michael Feb 15, 1765, the executrix is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given pledges for payment of debts and legacies namely Wm Gawn & Thos Cowley junior both of Ballaugh.’
