Episcopal Wills 1764 #2, Maughold, of William Robinson

This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of William Robinson of the town of Ramsey (Batchelor) who departed this life on August the 16th 1764 being of good and perfect mind and memory at the making thereof. First he committed his soul to the Almighty God & his body to be decently buried. Item he left and bequeathed to Ewan Christian of Lewaigue (student) a Book called Goff's Arithmetic - Item he left and bequeathed to John Callow (Hui) of Ramsey a book called Weston's Astronomy - Item he left and bequeathed to Ann Callow their maid servant a book called Pope's Essay on man Lastly he nominated, constituted and appointed his most dear & ever Honoured mother Mary Robinson whole & sole executrix of all the rest of his Goods, Chattels, Credits & Effects whatsoever.

Mary Robinson the Execrx above named being one of those people commonly called Quakers, has in the face of the Court most solemnly promised, declared and affirmed according to the form prescribed by Act of Parliament made in Great Britain in behalf the people called Quakers) that she will duely & truely execute the last will Will & testament of the testator William Robinson & pay his just debts & legacies as far as his goods will extend & the law shall bind, whereupon she is admitted lawfull exectrx & hath given pledges in form of law namely the Revd John Gill & Mr Thos Arthur Corlett both of Lezayre
