Archdeacon Wills 1764 #34, of Nicholas Taggart, died 4 March 1764:

‘This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Nicholas Taggart who departed this life the 4th instant March, being weak in body but of sound disposing mind and memory (for avoiding controversies after my decease) do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following: First, I commit my soul to God that give it and my body to Christian burial. Secondly, I leave to my son Paul my best coat, a sheep and a six pence to his daughter Ann. Thirdly, I leave to my son William half the crop of corn, a brown xxar, half the husbandry gears, my part of what money my son William had lent him before he died, and the feather bed that he lyeth on as it now is. Fourthly, I leave to my son Nicholas eight pounds in cash when he come to the age of twenty-two years and my part of the purchased lands called Dremrey after the death of his mother. Fifthly, I leave to my son David four pounds Manks when he comes to the age of twenty-two ears. Sixthly, I leave to my two daughters Elinor and Margret Taggart two sheep apiece. Lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my loving wife Isabell Taggart sole executrix of the rest of my goods and effects moveable and immoveble of what kind or nature soever, she my said wife paying the aforesaid legacies and do debar the rest of my relations or any one that shall claim to any of my said goods or effects with six pence legacy, hereby revoking all other wills heretofore by me made. Witnesses: Christopher Bridson, James Kennish. will proved at chapter court June 1764.’
