Archidiaconal Wills 1758-1 Braddan #3, of Philip Kneale

The last will & testament of Philip Neal of Douglas who
departed this life ye 17th Jan 1758 being in perfect
mind and memory at the making sd will
First he commended soul to God hoping through the merits 
of Christ to obtain free pardon for all his sins and his
body to christian burial
Item He left to his son William Neal his half of a certain corner
in the street adjoyning to ye rent of widow Cottiman to the 
north and to the common street to ye west in lieu of which
he ye sd William is to pay his half sister Letitia Neal
when she comes to age the sum of forty shillings mancks but
in case she dyed before she arrived to age that then the sd
sum was to rest in his own custody.
Lastly He nominated, constituted, appointed and ordained his beloved
son the afforesd William Neal to be his only executor of all the
rest of his goods moveable and immoveable only a little
wheel which he leaves to his wife as a legacy cutting and
debaring all of that can lay claim to any of his effects
with sixpence legacy each, and this he declared to be his
last will and testament before us

The execr is sworn in court in form of law, and has given
pledges for payment of debts & legacies namely
Gilbert Teare & Philip Nicholls the witnesses of the will
He is also sworn supervisor of his sister Letitia

I Letitia Neal daughter of the within named testator Philip
Neal do hereby acknowledge to have received this day at & from
the hands of my half brother William Neal exectr of the last will &
testament of my sd father Philip Neal the full & just sum of forty
shillings being the leegacy left & bequeathed unto me by my sd
father & payable to me by my sd half brother, and I do hereby
acquit release & discharge  my sd half brother William Neal
his excrs admrs & assigns thereof for ever as witness my mark
to my name this 15th March 1769
in presence of John Gill Ar Regr Letitia Neal my mark X
