Archdeacon Wills 1754 #25, Andreas, of Philip Radcliffe of BallaKelly, Andreas, died 10 November 1753:

"The last will and testament of Philip Radcliff of Ballakelly the parish of KK Andrews, who departed this life about the 10th of November 1753, and was in perfect and sound mind and memory at the making of it. First, he committed his soul to God and body to Christian burial. Item, to his son & heir William Radcliffe he left and bequeathed a 4th or quarter of the crop and half the husbandry gears in lieu of seven pounds and ten shillings due him by his mother to which his said son answered that he was satisfied therewith. He further left to his said son half the team, vizt., the two bullocks that used to be in the outside of the team and the red colt, the new colt, together with another 4th or quarter of the crop and to pay his two sisters Esther & Margaret Radcliff sixteen pounds equally betwixt them, vizt., eight pounds each to be paid them as they come to age without any interest out of the same, to which also his said son said that he was satisfied therewith. Item, the Testator then further said to his said son you have now the crop and team and you can plow and Thom: can drive and work the ground this year together. And to oversee his children that they should not be money’d[?] by anybody. Item, to his son Thomas he left five pounds legacy. Item, to his son Philip he left five pounds legacy. Item, to his son William he left twenty shillings legacy. Item, to his son John he left thirty shillings legacy. Lastly, he nominated and appointed his loving wife Margaret Radcliff sole Executrix of all the rest of his goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever. To the witnesses of this will he left 10 pence each. Witnesses: Thomas Crain, James Wade, Court of Corrections held in Lezayre 11th day February 1754.

At a Consistory Court holden at KK Michael, March 29, 1754: Margret Radcliffe the relict is sworn Executrix in Court in form of Law; she is also sworn supervisor of the minors and has given pledges for payment of debts and legacies, namely John Cowle of Lezayre and William Radcliffe her stepson. Said William Radcliffe is also sworn supervisor of the children underage and consents to accept the crop and team on the terms mentioned by the Testator, and has given pledges for payment of the sixteen pounds namely Thomas Craine and James Wade, the witnesses of the will.

Sept 11th, 1754, Edward Curghey enters a claim against the Executrix of Philip Radcliffe for the sum of 1 pound 6 shillings 0 pence, and craves the Law.

Nov 4, 1754: Daniel Cormoad enters a claim against the Executrix Phil: Radcliff for the sum of 3 shillings.

Nov 5, 1754: Margaret Gawn enters a claim against the Executrix of Phil: Radcliff for the sum of 9 shillings 7 pence, for a chest, and for an apron and coif. Nov 6, 1754, John Broadbend enters for 20 shillings.

Novr 6, 1754, James Wade enters for 2 pounds 12 shillings.

Novr 19, 1754, xxx[?Wm] Brew enters a claim for 1 pound 10 shillings. Feb 4th 1755, John Moore enters a claim for 4 pounds.

Feb 7, 1755, Daniel Cowle enters a claim against the Executrix of Philip Radcliff for two kishans of wheat and xx pounds 1 shilling 6 pence in cash and craves the Law. Know all men by these presents that I Michall Sayle of KK Andreas do hereby acknowledge myself to have disposed of an oak chest which I gave in pawn to Philip Radcliffe BallaKelly in said parish deceased for eight shillings before his death by selling my property in said chest to Thomas Radcliffe the Executor of the before said Philip Radcliff (who was charged by me before the Vicar General his day) for the sum of one shilling and nine pence now paid me over and above the money that was in pawn and therefore do acknowledge myself to be fully paid and satisfied by said Thomas Radcliff for the same as witness my name and mark this 7th of Febry 1755. [signed his mark] Michall Sayle. The above discharge acknowledged by Michael Sayle before me [signed] Matths: Curghey.

Lezayre Novr 21st, 1755: John Radcliffe son of Philip Radcliffe of BallaKelly (Andreas) came this day to the Registry and received from his brother Thomas Radcliffe Executrix of their mother Margaret Radcliffe the sum of thirty shillings being the legacy bequeathed him the said John by his said Father, and does therefore hereby acquit and discharge him said Thomas of the same forever. Before me Matths Curghey Ar. Regr.

Lezayre March 26, 1756: Esther Radcliffe daughter of Radcliffe arrived at lawful years came this day to the Registry and acknowledged to have received from her brother William the sum of eight pounds being the sum incumbent on him said William to pay her by the last will of their father Philip Radcliffe, as expressed in said will, and she does lately[?] acquit & discharge him said William of the same forever. Before me Matths Curghey.

At Lezayre July 30th, 1757, Margret Radcliffe arrived at lawful years came this day to the Registry and received from her brother William Radcliffe the sum of eight pounds being the sum he is liable to pay her the said Margret by the last will of their father Philip Radcliffe as mentioned in his last will, and the said Margret does hereby acquit and discharge him the said William of the same forever. Before me Matths: Curghey Archdeacon Registrar. Memorandum: the above sum of eight pounds deposited at present by consent of her supervisors in the hands of John Camaish of Andrews, till the same be laid out at Interest, with all convenient speed, for the benefit of Margret.

Lezayre 4th June 1763: This day I William Radcliffe junior son of the before named Testator Philip Radcliffe late of KK Andrews deceased came to the Registry and do acknowledged to have received from my brother Thomas Radcliffe Executor of our late deceased mother Margret Radcliffe the sum of twenty shillings being the legacy left and bequeathed to me by my said late deceased father Philip Kelly[?, meaning Philip of BallaKelly] and do hereby release discharge and acquit my said brother Thomas Radcliffe his Executors Administrators and Assigns thereof forever. As witness my mark to my name the day and date above said. [signed his mark] William Radcliffe. Before me John Gill Ar: Regr. Do Die: We the said William Radcliffe junior, John McNameer of Ramsey husband of Margaret McNameer otherwise Radcliffe & Esther Radcliffe do hereby acknowledge to have received at and from the hands of our brother Thomas Radcliffe Executor of our late deceased mother Margaret Radcliffe several respective shares and proportions of the five pounds legacy left and bequeathed by our late deceased father Philip Radcliffe to our late deceased brother philip Radcliffe to whom we were co-Administrators, & do hereby release acquit and discharge him our said brother Thomas Radcliffe his Executors, Administrators & Assigns thereof forever. As witness our marks to our names this 4th Jun 1763. [signed their marks] William Radcliffe, John McNameer, Esther Radcliffe. Before me John Gill Ar: Regr.

Lezayre 21st July 1764: This day I John McNamear of the Leane Moar in the parish of KK Andrews, husband of Margaret Radcliffe daughter of Philip Radcliffe late of BallaKelly in the said Parish, came to the Registry and do hereby acknowledge to have received at and from the hands of John Camaish of Balnacamaish in the parish of KK Andrews aforesaid the full sum of eight pounds which was in his hands belonging to my said wife and left her by the last will of her said father, and I do hereby release acquit and discharge the said John CAmaish, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns of the said sum forever, as witness my mark to my name the day and date above written. [signed his mark] John McNamere. In presence of John Gill Ar. Regr.

Lezayre 12th Novr 1765: I William Radcliffe senior eldest son & heir of the within named Testator Philip Radcliffe do hereby acknowledge to have received at and upon the hands of my brother Thomas Radcliffe Executor of my late deceased stepmother Margaret Radcliffe the half of the crop, half of the team and half of the husbandry gears which were left and bequeathed unto me by my said father, as also that I have received from my said brother Thomas my share and proportion of the five pounds legacy which was left and bequeathed by my said father to my brother Philip Radcliffe late deceased, and do hereby acquit and discharge my said brother Thomas, his executors, administrators and assigns the same forever as witness my mark to my name the date above said. [signed his mark] William Radcliffe. In presence of John Gill, Archdeacon Registrar."
