Archdeaconal Will 1748 #3 Rev Thomas Christian Marown

This writing is declared to be the last will and testament of the Rev Mr Thomas Christian of Balla killey vicar of Kk Marown made in the presence of the subscribing witnesses on Sunday the 24th of September 1752 N. S.

In primis: He committed his soul to god in hope of a happy resurrection through Jesus Christ our Saviour and his body to decent Christian burial willing the same to be deposited in the church yard without the east end of the church. Item: He left & bequeathed the sum of seventeen pounds ^ to be let out at interest ^ for charitable use, the interest thereof to be applyed to the relief of any poor person ^ in the parish of Marown ^ suffering loss by the death of cattle, or by fire, or any other great or grievous loss or calamity that in such cases twenty shillings shall be lent to such poor person to be repaid if and [] the sd person be able - or otherwise, to be remitted at the discretion of the minister & wardens then being.

Item He left and bequeathed to Mr Thomas Christian of Ballahutchin a legacy of fourty shillings

Item To Paul Gelling of Kk Braddan otherwise Paul Har[] he left a legacy of ten shillings - to his sister Abigail he left half a crown english, which if she [] not think proper to accept, he left the same to his [] Elinor Cowley - as also another half a crown to his said neice Eli[]

Item to his sister Elinor Cowley he left & orderdn [] [] her annually a new stuff gown of about fourteen or sixteen pence per yard lastly he named & appointed his son the Rev William Christian to be executor & administrator of his last will & testament leaving to his [] all his lands, estates, tenements goods chattles & effects of what kind or nature soever - []

This we publish & declare to be the best of our rembrance to be the full purport & tenour of the said Revd Mr Thomas Christian's will.

As winess our hands this 30th day of Oct 1752

NB we further declare that testator orderd & it was his will that his executors have three years time for the payment of the legacies as witness our hands
