Archdeaconal Will 1749 #34 Maughold of John Gelling of Maughold,

"This is affirmed to be the last Will and Testament of John Gellin of KK Maughold who departed this life about ye 28th of January 1748/9, Being of good & perfect memory. Imprimis, He committed his soul to God & body to Christian burial. Itm, He left and bequeathed to any person or persons whatsoever that would claim any right to his goods six pence legacy each. Lastly, He did constitute and appoint his loving wife Joney Gellin alias Brew whole & sole Executrix of all the rest of his goods & chattels of what nature or denomination so ever. Testes: Robt Cowle my mark X, John Kelly my mark X, jurati.

At a Chapter Court at Lezayre May 30th 1749: The Executrix sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given pledges vizt, Ro: Cowle and John Kelly the witnesses of the Will. Probatum est, solvit 12d. Edv:Moore, Ro:Radcliffe."
