Archdeacon Wills 1749 #32, Maughold, of Ewan Lace of Maughold, died 4 April 1749:

‘This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Ewan Lace of KK Maughold who departed this life about the fourth of April 1749, being of perfect mind and memory. First, he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. He left and bequeathed to his brother William Lace all his wild sheep in the Aire excepting two weathers which was to be taken out for his funeral and his best garment vest goat waistcoat and breeches; and loom. He left and bequeathed to his sister Isabel Lace all she owed him or was any way in his debt to her self and the half of two heifers as legacy. Lastly, he left to his sister Cathrine Callow als Lace the remainder of his effects but what is mentioned in this will; which he thought & laid was most need of and six pence each to the witnesses of their will. Witnesses: Ann Callow, Christian Cowley.

At a Chapter Court at Lezayre May 30th, 1749, the executrix is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given pledges for payment of debts and legacies vizt., William Lace & Robert Cowle.

January 17th, 1758, William Lace came this day to the Registry and acknowledged to have received from his sister Cath. Callow als Lace all the several and respective legacies bequeathed to him by the testator Ewan Lace his brother, and does hereby acquit and discharge her said Catharine the executrix of the same forever. Before me [signed] Matths. Curghey Archdeacon Register.

March 10th, 1773, Isabel Caine als Lace came this day to the Registry and acknowledged to have received from her sister Catharine Callow als Lace all the several legacies bequeathed her by the Testator Ewan Lace her brother and she does hereby acquit and discharge her the said Catharine Callow her executors and assigns of the said legacies forever. [signed her mark] Isabel Cain als Lace.’
