Archdeacon Wills 1746/7 #43, Bride, of Catharine Kneale als Lace, died 1 Feb 1746/7:

‘This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Catharine Kneal als Lace who departed this life February the 1st, 1746, being of sound mind and memory at the making thereof. First, she committed her soul to God and body to Christian burial. Item, she left the horses equally between her two sons vizt., William & John, and declared that his father willed two team beasts to her son William beforesaid and that she herself left him one team beast (that which the witnesses have reason to believe she meant the said beast of the black-cattle kind), together with all the husbandry gears, & a cow. Item, she left the sheep equally between her foresaid sons, and also her clothes which she said would be linings for them. Item, she left to Mary McDonold a suit of head clothes, and a double wheel upon account that she would stay with and be assistant to her said sons for some time. Lastly, she nominated and appointed her foresaid son John to be sole and lawful executor of all the rest of her goods movable and immovable whatsoever. To the witnesses of the will six pence each English. Note, that the witness recollects that she willed the two parts of the money due to her for her son John, and the third thereof to her son William. Witnesses: William Sayle, William Kneale.
