Archdeacon Wills 1741/2 #115, Braddan, of William Corlett, smith, died 29 Oct 1741:

‘This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of William Curlet who departed this life the 29th day of October last, and was of perfect mind and memory at the making thereof. First, he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. Item, he left and bequeathed to his eldest son William the one half of his dwelling house, vizt., the end next to Peter Moore’s, with half of the backside between the said house and the smithy as also half of the smithy. Item, he left and bequeathed to the rest of his children six pence legacy each, and to the child on the mother’s bearing six pence also. Item, he left to John Faile his poor neighbour a coat, an old hat and a neckcloth. Lastly, he left, appointed and nominated his wife sole executrix of the rest of his goods moveable and immovable whatsoever. Witnesses: Edward Tear, Jane Kewley.

Douglas February 8th, 1741/2, the executrix is sworn in Court in form of Law, and has given pledges William Quirk and Christopher Fitzsymons.

Robert and Peter & Jane Corlet the Uncles & Aunt of the orphans of William Corlet are sworn overseers in form of Law.’
