Archdeacon Wills 1742 #42, Andreas, of Richard Radcliffe, died abt 2 March 1742:

‘This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Richard Radcliff who departed this life about the 2nd of March last past, and was of perfect and sound mind and memory at the making of it. First, he committed his soul of God and body to Christian burial. Item, to his two eldest sons John and James Radcliffe he left all his shaped clothes save a second hand coat to his other son Richard. Item, to his other two children he left six pence each. Lastly, he nominated and appointed his loving wife Margaret Radcliffe als quark sole executor of all the rest of his goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever with an obligation to take the tuition and care of his foresaid children during their minority. To the witness of this will he left 6 pence apiece. Witnesses: Daniel Crow, Edward Lawson.

Margaret Radcliff the widow is sworn executrix in form of Law and she is also with James the uncle sworn supervisor, and has given pledges vizt., Ewan Xxural & Daniel Crow of Lezayre.’
