Archideaconal Wills 1737 Maughold #101, of John Kenish

Kirk Maughold
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of John
Kenish who departed this life about the 9th of March []
and was at perfect mind and memory at ye making of
ye same
1st he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian
burial
Ittm he decalred that there was due to him from his son in law
Thos Clague of KK Braddan forty shillings which sd forty
he left to himself vizt Thos Clague
Ittm he left and bequeathed to his two grand children in Baldoon
vizt Nicholas and Margt Kenish the tweny shillings
to be paid them when they came to ye age of sixteen
or seventeen years
Ittm he left to his grand child Edmd Corteen of KK Maughold
three shillings to buy him a couple of lambs
Ittm he left to Thos Corteen's two children vizt
Robt and Elinr Corteen three shillings to buy them
another couple of lambs
Ittm he left to Wm Kenish ye best of his coat and vest and a
second coat to Wm Sayle and ye rest of his cloathes to
ye poor
Ittm he declared that there is due to him from his saughter in law
and now married to Jon Kewley of Kk Lonan  ye sum of four
pound
To ye witnesses of ye will sixpence each
Lastly he nominated and appointed his daughter Ann Corteen
als Kensih and her son Thos Corteen joint exrs of all ye rest
of his goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever
witnesses
Hen Kelley his mark +
Mary Hog (?) her mark + - Jurati
The excrs are sworn in
Court in form of law
Pledges are Wm Kneal & Hen Kelly the witness
