Archdeacon Will 1734/5 #50, Malew, of William Harrison senior of Cordiman, Malew, died about 4 Jan 1734/5:

"KK Malew December 28th, 1734: The last will and testament of Wm Harrison senior of Cordiman who, being of perfect memory, committed his soul to God and body to Christian Burial. Imprimis, he bequeathed ten pounds to his son John Harrison. Item, be bequeathed six pence to his son William Harrison, and six pence legacy to his daughter Mary Harrison. Lastly, he constituted his wife, and his daughter Jane Harrison joint Executrices of all the rest of his goods whatsoever. Witnesses: J: Woods, Jo: Taggart.

The Widow has in Court surrendered the Executorship to her daughter Jane Harrison who is sworn & gave pledges Wm Harrison of Cordiman, & Wm Clague her 2 half brothers.

It is agreed on in Court, that if Jane the Executrix die intestate, and without issue, then the goods now bestowed on her by her mother are to fall to her said mother or her Executors.

At a Consistory Court in Balnahown, 12th March 1734/5: William Harrison junior having been one of the pledges for Jane Harrison is upon his own complaint released, and John Cain Cley:chur become surxxxx his stead. Whereas, tis agree that if Jane die intestate and without issue, that a certain part of the goods are to revert to her mother & her Executors, and the Court thinking it proper that an Inventory should be brought in and requiring the same for the benefit of said xxxx William Clague brother of the Executrix per matre declares that he does desire or insist upon an inventory to be taken of the said effects.

27 Nov 1729: Due to John Harrison from his father’s William Harrison Executrix as followeth: five pounds which was in the hands of Sill: Cross, now in the hands of Mr Curfey of KK Bride with the interest and of the interest received; eight pounds by his father to which I John claim to a fourth part. Item, thirty five shillings and four pence half penny. Item, ten shillings received from Mr. Sill: Ratcliffe. Item, half a silver tankard, half of two chests. Item, half a spit and half a pair of trippet.

At a Consistory Court held at Balnahown the 12th May 1734, William Harrison senior late of Cordeman, having by Contract Bargain bearing date the 11th October 1717, reserved to himself a quarter part of the gross of that Estate during his natural life and then to fall to his son William Harrison, who was thereupon to enjoy the same with the rest of the Estate to make his inheritance entire, as fully expressed in the said Bargain, We adjudge that the Dead’s part of the premises does by the said Contract belong to his said son, who is to enjoy the benefit of the same, for the ensuring season, and do hereby order that neither the Executrix of the said William Harrison senior nor any other in his behalf do presume to disturb his said son & heir in the peaceable possession thereof sub poena confinement in St German’s prison, there to remain till bonds are given to submit to law and pay all fees.

To the Sumner of Malew, who if disobeyed is to desire the assistance of a Soldier. [signed] John Woods, John Cosnahan, Ed: Moore.

Know all men by these presents that John Harrison of Ballafadda in the parish of KK Arbory do own and acknowledge to have received at and from my father William Harrison senior of Cordiman all my part and proportion of my deceased mother Executorship, which was due unto me except house and lands, and do hereby fully acquit &c., him the said William Harrison senior of any part or proportion of the said effects due unto me as aforesaid as witness my had and mark this the 28 of March 1726. [signed] John Harrison.

At a Consistory Court held at Banlyhowin July 31, 1735: John Harrison has made oath to the Article of November 27, 1729, vizt., thirty two shillings and four pence half penny in the Bill against the Executrix of his father acknowledging that the other particulars of the said Bill are part of what became due to him as Executor of his mother. And whereas the adverse xxx has produced a paper dated March 28th, 1726 and signed John Harrison, which the Claimer does not deny to be his writing and by comparison of hand appears to be his; Whereby the said John Harrison has acquitted his father William Harrison senior of Cordiman of all the part and proportion of his deceased mother’s Executorship, houses & lands excepted. We cannot admit of any other part of the Claimer’s demands but the said sum of thirty two shillings & four pence half penny by Jane Harrison Executor of the said William Harrison senior within fourteen days sub peona confinement till she submit to law and pay all fees. The Sumner of KK Malew is to call for the assistance of a soldier in case of disobedience. To be annexed to the will of Wm Harrison in Lib: 2 per 1734. [signed] John Woods, John Cosnahan.

At a Consistory Court held at Balnahown, 31st July 1735, In regard half the Executorship of William Harrison senior bestowed upon Jane by her mother the other Executrix is to revert to her said moter or her Executors in case the said Jane dies Intestate and without any issue. She the said Jane Harrison is now expressly required to bring to the Registry a pxxxx Inventory of the effects of the deceased within one month.

Annexed to the Will of William Harrison of Cardiman Lib: 2nd, 1734:

2nd May 1735, Robert Shimin enters a claim against the Executors of Wm Harrison for the sum of ten shillings English value (as appears per spxxxlly, & craves the Law: 0:11:8; xxx 2nd 1735: Wm Cubon senr Marown enters a claim for 1:0:0; July 30th 1735, Wm Harrison enters a claim against the Executrix of his father Wm Harrison for 15 pound in cash, half a silver tankard, half of 2 large chests, half a spit, and a pair of teippets, & Craves the Law: 15:0:0; Eod: die: Wm Harrison enters a claim for 1:15:0. Nov 5, 1735, Wm Norris enters a claim for 0:2:2; Janry 19th 1735, Capt Wm Bridson enter a claim for 0:14:4; Janry 26th, 1735, the Revd. Mr. Woods Vicar of Malew enters a claim for 1:10:0."
